Little Pearls
Saturday, August 21, 2004
I had originally intended this to be little pearls of wisdom from my two days of Law school orientation. But there have been other things that made my experience of living more worth wild since them. I want to share them too.
1) Don't ever forget that the law is about helping people. - Dean Parkinson
2) If the law were absolute, we'd have a lot less lawyers. - Prof. Welle
3) Torts is not a small black forest cake. - Prof. Welle
4) The law is a hypothesis of prediction.- O.W.Holmes
5) No matter how smart you are, you're not as smart as you think. Prof. Burman
6) When you graduate in three years, you'll want someone to be there. Prof. Burman
7) Oh my gosh, I can't believe you did that, it was soooo cool. - Rj's friend Randi, when he gave her a giant stuffed Giraffe
8) SPECTRUM is my family. - Me when considering that the prof's told us not to neglect those who support us or forsake our duties.
9) This could well be the biggest comeback in sports history. - NBC commentator discussing Paul Hamm's win of the men's all around Gold Medal.
10) This is my first annual 29th birthday. - Jim on the topic of aging.
11) Are those you new ones? Those are so cool. - Drew commenting on my socks tonight. It made my day.
It is amazing how so many things, so small, can be so big and meaningful. Each of the aforementioned quotations were picked for that reason alone.
Bless you all.
